NNA's 2010 Legislative Platform (as adopted by the House of Delegates):
1.  Influence safe, cost effective quality health care services through NNA member participation in local, county, state and federal decision-making bodies.

·      Actively participate in coalitions with health care providers and organizations whose goal is to assure safe, quality care outcomes for all Nebraskans.

·      Actively participate to strengthen the public health infrastructure for the health promotion and protection of Nebraskans

·      Monitor/promote legislation to assure that the standards for safe, quality patient care are not compromised.


2.  Advocate inclusion of registered professional nurses as an essential part of care delivery in all settings.

3.  Support legislation and regulation that protects and develops the scope of professional nursing practice.  Monitor legislation to ensure that the scope of professional nursing practice is not compromised.

4.  Monitor and promote legislation that protects economic and workplace safety issues for nurses in the state of Nebraska.

5.  Promote legislation that eliminates barriers to APRN practice, specifically for Nurse Practitioners.
