The Nebraska Nurses Foundation was created in 2000 as a charitable gifting arm of the Nebraska Nurses Association (NNA), and compliments the work of NNA by accepting charitable donations and actively raising funds to support advances in education, research and nursing practice.Click Here to Make A Donation!

Scholarships are given with the interest generated from investments to our scholarship endowment.  The Foundation’s goal is to raise $100,000 for a permanent endowment for scholarships to new nursing students in the undergraduate level and nursing faculty at the graduate level.

Why is giving a scholarship so important?  Through the Foundation you can play an important role in the future of nursing - by making a difference in nurses’ lives.  All gifts are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.  Since only the interest generated by this investment is used, a donation to the scholarship endowment means a perpetual stream of income for scholarships.

The mission of NNA is to foster high standards for nursing practice, to stimulate and promote the professional development of nurses and advance their professional security.  Donating to the Foundation would achieve our mission and make a difference by giving scholarships to nursing students.

Nebraska Nurses Foundation Fellows Program:
The Fellows Program is designed to recognize donors who have made a significant financial contribution to the Foundation, and thus an impact on nursing's future.  Donors are recognized as follows:

  • The Nan Dorsey Fellow - $1,000 contribution:  In honor of the matriarch and first president of the Nebraska Nurses Association.
  • The Clara Barton Fellow - $2,500 contribution:  In celebration of the selfless, compassionate, fearless natuare of nursing care.
  • The Florence Nightingale Fellow - $5,000 contribution:   Out of respect for the long and dignified line of nursing forebears who have guaranteed the sanctity of the nursing profession.

The Fellowships are cumulative; meaning one can begin at the lower level of support and cumulatively contribute to the Foundation in order to become a Fellow at the highest level.  Gifts may be one-time payments or placed on a payment schedule.  They may also be made via an electronic monthly deduction from one’s checking account.  Your gift(s) may be made in someone’s memory or honor.   Cash gifts above the Fellows level (minimum of $10,000 or more) are eligible to establish a nursing scholarship in their (or their family’s) name.

In addition to the tax deduction, each Fellow will receive an elegant NNF Fellow pin, an invitation to a special Fellow Luncheon, recognition in our quarterly newsletters and other publications, and the satisfaction of knowing that your contribution will make a difference to the organization and to the profession.
